Position Overview

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Environmental Expert to join our multidisciplinary team. The role involves leading and supporting environmental assessments, compliance reviews, and sustainability planning for infrastructure, industrial, and renewable energy projects. The candidate will ensure adherence to national environmental regulations and international standards, including IFC Performance Standards and World Bank guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
  • Review project designs for environmental risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee baseline environmental surveys (air, water, soil, noise, biodiversity, etc.) and analyze data.
  • Ensure compliance with national environmental legislation and clearance processes (e.g., EIA Notification 2006 in India or equivalent).
  • Contribute to sustainability planning, climate risk assessments, and circular economy strategies.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory submissions and stakeholder consultations.
  • Provide guidance on the application of international frameworks such as IFC PS, WB EHS Guidelines, and Equator Principles.
  • Support audits, due diligence, and monitoring activities during project construction and operation.
  • Engage with clients, regulators, consultants, and community representatives as required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related discipline
  • 4–8 years of professional experience in environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, or sustainability advisory.
  • Strong understanding of environmental laws, EIA processes, and licensing requirements.
  • Familiarity with GIS and environmental modeling tools is a plus.
  • Experience working with international development organizations, financiers, or multilateral agencies is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
  • Willingness to travel and work in diverse field settings.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
